Emergency Department Support
The Emergency Department (ED) at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is seeking dedicated volunteers to play a key role in supporting patients and their families or carers in the ED.
Volunteers guide patients to the triage area and provide general support throughout the ED, including offering updates to waiting family members or carers from the triage team.
Once triage is complete, volunteers will work closely with nursing and administrative staff to escort families or carers to their loved one.
The ED is a dynamic and fast paced environment, volunteers will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, a calm, supportive approach and a focus on consumer engagement.
No previous experience is required with full guidance provided. This role would particularly suit those studying health sciences or considering a future in healthcare.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available Monday to Friday, with options for:
- 10am to 1pm
- 1pm to 5pm
