Clinic helper – Breast Centre and Transit Ward
Breast Centre
Compassionate and reliable clinic helper volunteers are sought to support the Breast Centre team and help create a welcoming, calm and supportive environment for patients and families.
As a Clinic Helper, you will play an important role in enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities may include:
- greeting patients,
- offering wayfinding assistance,
- supporting staff with simple non clinical duties,
- maintaining tidy waiting areas, and
- providing a friendly presence for those who may be feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, is comfortable in a healthcare setting, and values kindness, dignity and respect in patient care.
No clinical experience is required; just a warm attitude, good communication skills and a willingness to help.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available Monday to Friday, with options for:
- 10am to 2pm
- 1pm to 5pm
Transit Ward
Clinic helper volunteers in the Transit Ward area play a vital role in assisting patients while they recover and become ready to go home after minor day surgery procedures.
As a Transit Ward clinic helper volunteer, you will provide comfort and compassionate to patients and visitors after recovery and provide general assistance to the area.
Responsibilities may include:
- help with meal distributions,
- provide tea and coffee,
- provide directions to other hospital facilities (pharmacy, taxis etc),
- disposal of drink and food packages, and
- keeping patients company (taking, reading etc).
This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, calm and enjoys meaningful interactions in a supportive healthcare environment.
