Auxiliary Retail Shop
The Hospital Auxiliary Shop is a welcoming, community run retail space located within the hospital designed to provide comfort, convenience and support to patients, visitors, and staff.
The shop offers everyday essentials such as toiletries, snacks, drinks and small personal items as well as gifts and comfort items including, plush toys, chocolates and get well cards.
Revenue generated from the Auxiliary Shop is donated back to the hospital to fund equipment, patient programs, and community health initiatives.
Volunteers don’t just run the shop — they help create a supportive, human connection within the hospital. Their contribution strengthens the hospital’s ability to provide holistic care.
Responsibilities include:
- greeting and assisting customers with purchases,
- operating the cash register and handling simple transactions,
- restocking shelves and keeping the shop tidy and inviting, and
- providing a friendly presence for patients and families who may be stressed or anxious.
Shifts are available morning and afternoon Monday to Friday.
- 8am to 12pm
- 12pm to 4pm
