Health Service Provider

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is part of the Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group, which forms part of the wider North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS).

The NMHS is led by Chief Executive Robyn Lawrence and is part of the Western Australian Government's WA Health. In 2016 NMHS became a statutory authority - a Health Service Provider - governed by the NMHS Board.

The north metropolitan catchment area covers almost 1000 km2, with a population of almost 750,000.  Of this, 1.2 per cent of the population is Aboriginal, 37 per cent were born overseas and 18 per cent of the total NMHS population are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Our population represents more than 36 per cent of Western Australia’s total, and is projected to grow to more than 1.1 million by 2020.

The NMHS offers a range of State-wide, highly specialised multi-disciplinary services from several hospital and outpatient/ambulatory care settings, as well as services specifically aimed at the north metropolitan catchment area.
