Do you know someone interested in emergency health care and looking to gain exposure within a dynamic hospital environment?

We are looking for volunteers to play a key role in assisting patients and families or carers within the Emergency Department at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Volunteers will direct patients to the triage area and act as the key facilitator between families or carers and triage staff.

They will provide general support within the Emergency Department and provide patient updates to waiting family members or carers.

Volunteers will liaise with nursing and administrative staff to escort families or carers to the correct patient once triaging is complete.

Requirements

The Emergency Department is a fast paced and challenging environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required along with a consumer engagement focus. No previous experience is necessary but this role may suit people who are currently studying in the health science field or interested in working in healthcare.

To express your interest please contact the Volunteer Coordinators at SCGOPHCG.Volunteers@health.wa.gov.au.
