In celebration of International Nurses Day 2021, we are shining a spotlight on our exceptional nurses.

This year the Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group is focusing on nurse innovation in the face of an unprecedented global health crisis. The pandemic has opened up opportunities for us to stop and explore what we do and how we do it, providing nurses a way to do things better.

Today’s spotlight is on Jordyn Lister and Tegan McCallum, Staff Development Nurses on Ward G61 at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, for their innovation to deliver education in a format that allows for social distancing.

Tegan and Jordyn have developed a Microsoft Teams G61 Nursing and G61-specific nursing graduate forum on Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft teams program allows for live chat, alerts to new information and video recording of education sessions provided on the ward. The SDN team is regularly updating and responding to questions and they provide staff with a range of education materials to access at work or at home.
