Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital strives to continuously improve the quality and safety of its services in line with:

The Western Australian Strategic Plan for Safety & Quality in Health Care 2003-2008. This Plan will foster a health care system for Western Australia that concentrates on consumer needs, and strives for continuous quality improvement in all areas of health care delivery.
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). SCGH has been accredited by the ACHS until May 2005. ACHS accreditation is a formal recognition of our high standard of care and desire to continually improve. The ACHS helps health care organisations provide the best possible care with the resources available to them.

The position of Quality Improvement Coordinator provides a central point of coordination of the hospital’s quality improvement activities including ACHS accreditation requirements.
