The role of the Office of Research Development

The key role of the Office of Research Development (ORD) is the Administration of Research at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the QEII Medical Centre and encompasses the research activities of all clinical areas at this site.

Administration

ORD is the Research Advisory Office for the National Health and Medical Research Council and facilitates processes, guidelines and procedures of thereof. This office reviews, processes and submits all Grants where SCGH is the governing institute to ensure adherence to current national standards, guidelines and policies.
ORD facilitates the processes, guidelines and procedures of the SCGH Research Advisory Committee (RAC), and acts as the central contact point for the RAC.
ORD is the central liaison office for QEIIMC Research Institutes on research matters:

Provides a central point for the dissemination of and research information.
Provides advice and support to QEIIMC staff members on administrative processes associated with Research and Grants.

Maintains the Medical Research Website for SCGH.

ORD is the office responsible for the implementation of a central Research Database (RACS) and acts as central administrator and coordinates training for QEIIMC Research Staff. For further information on RACS please contact Ms Lindell Chambers
