Services We Offer

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is the leading cancer hospital in Western Australia in terms of patient numbers, complexity of services, research and cutting edge developments in cancer treatments and care. The hospital has a sound core of the necessary facilities, including high dose brachytherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy and intrabeam and has specialist expertise in these areas. It has a strong academic focus in Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health and actively contributes to international clinical trials.

We offer a multi disciplinary approach to cancer management and provide the full range of services relating to cancer care including a purpose built patient cancer support centre offering complementary therapies. We have a national and international reputation as a major centre for treatment and management of lung cancers with comprehensive links with neurosurgery, breast/general surgery and respiratory and cardiothoracic departments.

The departments of Endocrinology, Clinical Immunology , Dermatology and WA Research Tissue Network are also part of the Cancer Clinical Service Unit and are integral in the multidisplinary care of patients and research activities of the Cancer Clinical Service Unit.
