Pre-admission Clinic - provides pre-admission assessment and education to elective surgical
patients. Pre-admission services are available in G Block for all surgical specialities except Ophthalmology and Cardiothoracic surgery. Pre-admission services for these
specialities are offered in the Outpatient Department.
Day of Surgery Admissions – where clinically possible patients are admitted on the day of
surgery through a special facility adjacent to theatre. Residential accommodation is available for
patients from outer metropolitan, rural and remote areas on the night before surgery if required.
